Greater Grand Rapids Ski Club

Volunteer

The Greater Grand Rapids Ski Club depends completely on volunteer efforts. Through the hard work of an important core of board members and other members, many great opportunities are available to members and non-members alike.

Our monthly TGIF parties are totally open to the public and always well attended. These great monthly socializing opportunities are held at a variety of locations and attendance is usually between 100 and 200 fun loving folks each time. Our 2 – 3 annual rush parties are also open to the public and may include prizes, drawings, fashion shows, trip displays and convenient membership sign-up.

Many events are open only to members. Generally speaking, this means all paying events and any event requiring a trip application. The exception is a non-member is allowed to participate in one single-day bus trip during the winter to check out skiing with our club.

All together, in 2006 our club organized over 30 trips and activities, not counting the weekly golf and biking events in the summer - all organized and manned by volunteers. Would you like to support your club and have the opportunity to make new friends? There is no better way than to volunteer to help with an activity. Fellow members will see your contribution and will appreciate your efforts. You will even get that occasional "Atta Boy!" to show your work is appreciated.

Why not visit the "Contact Us" page of the web site and choose one of the committee you'd like to help with? Drop the chair person an email letting them know when you would like to help out. Does anyone ever have enough friends? A little volunteerism is a great way to get some more.
